BD Outdoors is excited to announce our latest collaboration with BNS Brewing. We have worked diligently (read: we drank a lot of beer) with our brewing friends at BNS to come up with what we feel is the ultimate boat beer.
It’s a light, golden ale with great flavor. We even named the beer to pay homage to our absolute favorite gamefish….
The YellowtailTuna (Thunnus lalandi) is truly a fish of yore. Rumored to swim throughout the Pacific, but rarely seen and only caught in the tallest of fish tales.
For centuries, pirates, scallywags, and scoundrels would tell tales of their anchors mysteriously being “eaten” by a giant fish with the head of a tuna and the body of a jack. During World War II, shot-down pilots described a similar fish that would circle their life rafts for days with a blood-thirsty look in its eyes. Southern California anglers have described the same fish, lurking under kelp paddies with a knife in its jaws waiting to dash the dreams of anglers who dare cast a bait its way.
This mythical creature is best known for its devasting strikes, drag-burning runs, and heartbreaking line explosions. It is often mistaken for its 12th cousin on its mother’s side, the California Yellowtail.
Clearly, the YellowtailTuna is the king of the sea and we have searched the depths of the mighty Pacific to bring you the lifeblood of this incredible animal.
Fortunately, a salty angler such as yourself can now enjoy the fruit of this mythical creature. Our YellowtailTuna Golden Ale is the product of centuries of brewing experience seasoned lightly with tears of a thousand heartbroken anglers (not really, duh).
