Sportsman Open 352 Fishing Boat

Sportsman is known for building relatively small boats, but they’ve upped their game in recent years. When they rolled out the Open 352, it became the new flagship of their fleet and their first triple-engine rig. It’s not just a bigger boat, however, it’s also designed with some unique perks like dive doors on both sides, a huge console window, and the option for Palm Beach-style teak helm seats.

Critical Fishing Features

  • Six flush mount gunwale rod holders
  • 11 Hard top pipework multi-level rocket launchers
  • Four transom rod holders
  • Under gunwale rod racks
  • Five vertical console rod holders
  • Two 30-gallon pressurized transom live wells w/viewing ports
  • 65-quart and 88-quart coolers
  • Two 58.5-gallon in-deck insulated fish boxes w/macerator pump-outs
  • Garmin GPSMAP 8622 22” MFD
  • Airmar B175M CHIRP through-hull transducer
  • Coaming bolsters
  • Stainless-steel toe rails
  • Leaning post rigging station w/sink and two rocket launchers
  • Fresh and raw water wash-downs

Angling Advantages

  • Twin dive doors mean you can wrestle in monster fish from either side.
  • The bow design allows for maximum convertibility; the table drops (at the press of a button) and the forward insert can be removed, allowing fish ability right up to the forepeak. With the table and insert in place and the cushions removed, the entire bow becomes a raised casting platform.
  • Options for twin and triple engine rigging allows you to choose between maximum speed (61.7-mph with triple 300s) or maximum efficiency (1.37 mpg at 31.7 mph with twin 425s).

There are an awful lot of perks that come with an Open 352, whether you’re considering the factory-installed standard electronics package, performance, or all-around fish ability. Our advice: if you’re looking for a center console in this class, take a look at one up close and personal.
