It’s never too early to begin planning for our next #fishforjose event featuring music, drinks, auctions, food and of course, fishing!
Fish For Jose (#FishForJose) 2018 takes place January 26 – 28. Click here to get your tickets before they’re gone!
Fish For Jose originated as a social media movement calling on all those who loved and watched Spanish Fly over the years to celebrate the life of Jose Wejebe on his birthday, January 18th, and do something Jose would do.
The event was created for everyone, from industry leaders to the casual anglers among us, and everyone in between. And this year’s event promises to be even bigger than before.
Festivities begin on Friday, January 26 with the kick-off party at the Square Grouper’s My New Joint to begin a great weekend celebrating the life of fishing legend and friend, Jose Wejebe. New this year is a Coastal Clean-up on Saturday, January 27 to help the Florida Keys’ Hurricane Irma cleanup effort. That will be followed by an invitation-only happy hour and dinner at Jose’s home. The weekend wraps on Sunday, January 28, when everyone is encouraged to get on the water and #FishForJose, then meet up at The Saltwater Angler for drinks and more activities beginning at 5 pm.
For those unable to attend in person, you can still show your support by doing something Jose would do … introduce someone to the sport of fishing, attempt to fish for a new species, keep only what you eat and let the rest go to grow, or simply promote ethical fishing. Just tag #FishForJose on your social post and let everyone know!
