Costa pro staff team members, Captain Josh Temple, mate Andrea McQuade, and their crew have many reasons to be proud. They have broken the world record for the most blue marlin released in one year, with 553 to date.
This action is taking place aboard the Carol Libby, a 60-foot custom sportfish, based out of Los Suenos, Costa Rica. The crew used bait and switch, lures, and live bait to carry out this incredible run of fishing success. They have raised 926 blue marlin, had 773 bites and tagged an amazing 389 marlin with TBF tags since February.
“Currently we hold five world records: the most blue marlin ever released in a single day (34), the most ever released in a single day by one angler (27), the most ever released in a year (553 and counting), the most ever tagged in a single day (23), and the most ever tagged in a single year (389),”
Congratulations to everyone involved with this incredible accomplishment. I know how much hard work, long days and dedication goes into a statistic like this, so we tip our BD hats to the crew.
Costa is also proud of their team and you can follow the Carol Libby’s continued fishing accomplishments on Costa’s Facebook page.
