How To Wash Your Boat – Pro Tips

Certainly, washing your boat is not the most exciting topic when compared to fish blasting lures on the surface or big bruisers charging back to their structures, but your boat is your ticket to these exciting things.  That’s why you need to make it last and getting the salt off at the end of the day is one key factor in making your boat last and look good too.

Of course, most boat washing happens at the end of a long day, but having the right boat cleaning supplies and a streamlined method will make it as painless as it can be. Capt. Scott Goodwin shares some tips for washing your boat and keeping it like new.

“Salt is the enemy.  It is constantly working to destroy the finish and function of your boat,” says Capt. Scott. “Everywhere the salt goes, the soap and chammy must go too if you want your boat to last.  Soap or spritz all of your gear, rods & reels, and get it stowed or off the boat if possible so that nothing is in your way while cleaning.”
