Day One Update
Chicago-based Team Ten Brothers held the lead of the 37th Annual Bisbee Black & Blue tournament after Day One [10/25/17]. Fishing aboard the sportfisher Dream Weaver, they brought a 485-pound blue marlin to the scales.
A Team Ten Brothers angler was fighting a fish when a second larger marlin came up behind the transom of the Dream Weaver. A crew member dropped back a large tuna they had bridled for bait and the huge marlin grabbed it. The Team Ten Brothers’ monster blue marlin then “greyhounded” away, taking a handful of jumps before sounding.
One hundred twenty sportfishing teams from around the world are competing in the richest tournament of its kind on thr planet earth. “On the waters where the Sea of Cortez and Pacific Ocean meet.”
Other First Day Black & Blue Tournament fish included Team Rising Sun with a 392-pounder, to provide the team with an early lead;
Team Chinito Bonito, with a 442-pound blue, temporarily securing the team top spot on the leader board; and
Team Porque No with a 344-pound black marlin.
The Chicago sportfishing team consists of anglers Anthony Boratto; John Boratto; Michael Boratto; Jeff Cornett; mate Eliazar Cortez; anglers Joe Donatoni; Joseph Donatoni, Sr.; Salar Gilly; Jeff Kleitz; James Miller; Capt. Hiram Montano; and angler Dave Snobl.
