Why Zincs Are So Important On Boats

Terry behind the Patriot to discuss the importance of maintaining the proper amount of zincs on one’s boat to cancel out any stray electrical currents in the water or your boat.  The zincs “sacrifice” themselves before the harder and more important metals on your boat like the running gear saving many thousands in potential damage.

“We typically have to replace the zincs about every six months on our boat and they do a great job protecting our 30,000 dollar props”, said Capt. Terry.
