Baton Fred Hall Long Beach Show
The team at Batson Enterprises is excited to be sharing their experience at this years Fred Hall Show in Long Beach, CA on March 5-9th. That experience is the art of custom rod building and they will have a 700 square foot booth, #1205, for the first time at Fred Hall.
Batson is one of the premium builders of rod components in the U.S. Even if you don’t own a custom rod, you have probably been fishing with their quality products, as they are the component builder for many top name rod companies. From blanks, reel seats and more, they are deeply rooted in the art of rod building. They are also in tune with fishermen and the specific requirements of the many different aspects and environments within fishing.
The Fred Hall Booth will focus on demonstrating and educating people about the process of custom rod building. Every day of the show they will have many of the top local rod builders on site to give seminars and demonstrations. The seminar topics and schedule is available here.
There will also be a free rod raffle each day so come by the booth and register to win a custom rod. Every day, Batson will raffle three custom built rods: one for military personnel, one civilian and one for young adult (12-17 years of age). They will also give away one “Nascar” Rod to a child between 2 and 11 years of age each day.
We will also be having a rod give-away on BDoutdoors, so stay tuned for details.
The rod was custom built by Jim Trelikes of Web Spinner Custom Rods. It is a RainShadow Composite Live Bait Blank, RCLB79MH: 7’9” 1 pc 40lb Class Rod with an ALPS CAH aluminum reel seat and ALP Titanium guides. It will be ready to catch anything from tuna to yellowtail. The MSRP for this rod is $700!
Custom builders will be on hand, actually building rods and explaining techniques to those who build rods or those who want to start. Don’t have time, but want to experience the benefits of a custom rod? You can pick up a component kit for a specific design and have it built by one of Batson’s recommended rod builders. Here is a list for those who would like to take that route.
You can also come meet BD’s columnist, Erik Landesfiend, the 2013 SWBA angler of the year and Team RainShadow Pro-Staff member. He will be there everyday to swap fishing stories with the crowds.
The art of rod building needs to be passed on and Batson is working towards that goal.
See you at the Batson Booth #1205 on March 5-9th at the Long Beach Fred Hall Show.
