Morgan’s passion for kayak fishing began in 2000 when he purchased a kayak to fish the waters off San Diego: “I wanted to get beyond the shoreline and target the larger species that inhabited the local kelp beds and offshore reefs.” On his first trip out of La Jolla, CA, he bagged a 20-pound yellowtail and has been addicted ever since. In high school he worked at a local tackle store, and about 5 years and a few hundred trips later, he started a kayak fishing guide business focused on the bays and ocean of San Diego County. “From the calm waters on the bays targeting spotted bay bass to beyond the breakers chasing bonito, calicos, yellowtail, and white seabass, there was nothing better than being on the water and sharing an experience with a fellow angler.”
