AFTCO Yellowfin Shorts
Spend a good amount of time fishing in the tropics and you’ll quickly learn that it takes a nice, lightweight pair of shorts to stay comfortable in the hot sun.
The new Yellowfin Boardshorts from AFTCO feature some high-tech materials to keep you cool and comfortable all day long.
The shorts are constructed using a bamboo, charcoal laminate in the fabric. Who knew, but when you combine these natural materials, you end up with a soft, lightweight fabric that won’t chafe you up as you battle a big fish, or work all day on deck. According to AFTCO, you won’t see this fabric used on any other fishing shorts on the market. The fabric is anti-microbial and moisture-wicking so it will keep you dry and repel water. It’s also stain resistant, and protects you from the sun’s UV rays.
“We’ve outfitted Miami-based Capt. Ray Rosher’s crew with these shorts and it’s been almost therapeutic for his guys,” said AFTCO’s Casey Shedd. “Being on the boats all day long, they used to get rashes, a ton of rubbing, and all sorts of funk going on, but ever since they switched to these new boardies all of their issues healed up right away.”
AFTCO was actually the first company in the industry to use durable, lined plier pockets on fishing shorts, and the Yellowfin Boardshorts maintain that tradition. And while a lot of guys are wearing surfing shorts when they fish, those shorts aren’t necessarily built to take on the demands of hardcore fishing. The new AFTCO Yellowfin Boardshorts are a bit heavier than your typical surfing shorts, so they won’t fall apart on you. The shorts have a full cut for a comfortable fit and the 4-way stretch fabric will keep you comfy on long trips.
While anglers will definitely appreciate all of the thought AFTCO put into these shorts, we think the design is what really separates them from the rest. AFTCO nailed the yellowfin colors and pattern in the screen printing. The colors on the front and back of the shorts resemble the belly, and the sides have the yellow-and-blue flanks of a cow tuna. AFTCO did a killer job with the design, and the incorporation of the logo is super slick. You’ll be looking good (and feeling good) wherever you wear these bad boys.
The shorts retail for $64.99. For more information visit www.aftco.com.
