It’s easy to spot a good thing when you see it, and that’s exactly what happened when we stumbled upon the new Accurate SR-6 Twinspin 6 Spinning Reel, at ICAST.
Accurate has been making top-of-the-line spinning reels for some time now. The new SR-6 is much smaller in stature than their other line of spinning reels, but it too can takes on serious fish with 15 pounds of drag pressure. That’s pretty impressive considering this reel fits in the palm of your hand and weighs just 10 ounces.
The Accurate SR-6 Twinspin 6 Spinning Reel is made of 6061 T-6 aircraft-grade aluminum, which is known for it’s strength and light weight.
The SR-6 is ideal for hardcore inshore fishing fanatics. It will put the metal to snook, tarpon, striped bass, yellowtail or small tuna. The reel holds 110 yards of 10-pound mono, 280 yards of 15-pound braid or 210 yards of 20-pound braid.
It also retrieves line quickly with a 6:1 gear ratio. That equates to reeling in 36 inches of line with each crank of the handle. Those high speeds come in handy when working stick baits and vertical jigs.
The Accurate SR-6 Twinspin 6 uses Accurate’s patented TwinDrag system, which provides a greater drag surface for more power and less chance of failure. The carbon fiber wet drag also keeps things running ultra smooth when a big fish takes line. And, like all of Accurate’s reels, the Accurate SR-6 Twinspin 6 will never lose its luster thanks to the anodized finish, which keeps corrosion at bay.
All in all, this is a bad-ass spinner that will last you decades. It retails for $599 and will be available soon. For more information on Accurate products and to find a local dealer visit www.accuratefishing.com.
