For January and February, California scorpionfish may only be taken or possessed in waters less than 240 ft (40 fathoms) deep (except in the Cowcod Conservation Areas - see below). From March through December, scorpionfish may only be taken or possessed in waters less than 360 feet (60 fathoms) deep (except in the Cowcod Conservation Areas - see below). The daily bag and possession limit is 5 fish with a minimum size limit of 10 inches total length.
