2nd Shawn, Jeff,Dave,Zar on deck and Ian cookin good eats in the galley.
We rolled with a full load of fuel and bait at 9pm in a stiff breeze
and rolling sw swell, and bottom line we're GOIN YARD down 160+
where bluefin caught last week. With a load of veteran winders,
Norm, Jeff, Ray, Darryl, Ed, Mark, Hector,Ken, Jason, and many more we
dumped the jigs in about 100 miles. Jigs-only YT no tuna whole trip.
We trolled on down to the zone, boxed it all of day 2=no tuna
metered, jig strikes, jumpers =NADA. NOW the fun, 2nd paddy day one
over 200 yellows, 253 for the day. Day 2, even more insane....2 day limits
by 1st hr., started throwing them back...easily hooked over 500.
These wern't lil baby 2-3's like last yr, really nice eating 7=14lb rockets!
They bit on 30-50 with dines or jigs, megabaits, the whole kitchen sink.
Lot of carnage but goes with the game. Fish and human blood flyin. LOL
IF you wanted a season busting, ass kicking, blood flying knock down til
ya drop ripper, THIS WAS IT! LOL Lot of fun, all the smack you could want.
Anyway, great way to start the season and everyone had full big coolers
of tasty filets, WOW what a fun trip. We decided to made this an annual.
Had a great time fishing with all of you, and look forward to doing it again.
Here's a few pics we'll post more later from others
when they wake up or get home. LOL
THANKS AGAIN TO CHRIS AND THE ENTIRE CHIEF CREW.....
WE HAD A ROCKIN GOOD TIME. SEE YOU SOON. :git:

Hi gang we did work up till 5pm Thursday night to get all systems in order and get off the dock in one piece as this was our first off shore shake down trip after 6 months on boat work and up grades. I would just like to add a few photos and thank everyone for giving me and the crew a chance to display our talents in all areas and show off what we have to offer. This was an awesome trip. I've been fishing with Chris and his crew for over 15 years and this is was as great a trip as ever. The Chief was super conformable as easy to fish. I had a great time and have the honor of landing the first offshore yellowtail on the Chief and getting the jackpot for day 2. We had a great group of guys to fish with and no "that guy" on the boat.

Here is a video as they were lining up the fish.

Great writeup Ron n pics. We did have a great trip n great service n food.

Btw, Chris said that was a parasite, Shaun said it was a "hammer worm". I pulled them both, out of one of my Ytail, not the bonito. I've been all over the Marine Bio. website and cannot find out, what the heck those were.

Will start smokin some of those fish fillets here in a few days. We'll get rested up, and do it again. Thanks to all for a great trip.
