"But first a list of characters, so I don't have to repeat everytime:
    <?xml:namespace prefix = o ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com<img src=" /><o:p></o:p>

The numbers and what they mean: first is number of fish raised, the middle is number of fish bites, and lastly the number of fish released.<o:p></o:p>
We use dead large medium ballyhoos on circle hooks and Cam Sigler fly poppers. So here's my report starting with April Fools Day - which wasn't any joke - these are the actual figures:<o:p></o:p>

    01 April:

    &#8220;Cañaso&#8221; w/Capt. Chico 49-37-28
    &#8220;Finest Kind&#8221; w/Capt. Ron 65-61-44

    03 April:

Cañaso 15-5-1 on the fly and 5 on bait
Finest kind 14-7-2 on the fly and 2 blue marlin bites on the fly
Intensity 13-3-2 on the fly, 2-2-0 on blues
Release 21-16-1 on the fly with AL&#8217;s Latvian group
Rum Line 34-13-4 on the fly
    Afinity 34-30-21 on bait

    04 April:
    Cañaso 37-27-17 on bait
    Finest Kind 21-8-1 on fly
    Intensity 26-10-3 on fly
Rum Line 26-11-6 on the fly
For my Janis Legzdins group from Latvia, aboard the "Release" with Capt. Nico the figures for their first three days are: 128-102-32. Not bad for a group of trout fishermen - doing their own hooking first time on circle hooks! They are going to Tikal for a couple of days, then back fishing on the "Release" for three more days. So, I will have another report for this group later this week.

  6. Jason Admin

Shows the fly guys are only getting a couple a day. Have pictures Al?
  7. Casa Vieja Lodge

Sorry Jason, no pics at this time. Most of the fly anglers are first timers, so they don't get the numbers like the conventional bait guys do. I have a more experienced group in there right now - Chip Rizzotto from Montana, Mark Cichon from Pennsylvania and seven from Canada.

    10 April:

Cañaso 11-10-7 bait, raised three blues, no bites
    Finest Kind 15-2-0 on fly
    Afinity 19-18-15 Bait

    Release 13-7-2 on fly
Intensity 15-6-2 fly, 1-1-1 blue on bait 200#
    Rum Line 12-3-1 on fly
This is day one for the Rizzotto group with many first-time sailfishers, but with more experience in skinny waters.

    11 April:

    Cañaso 22-19-13, 1-1-0 marlin, bait
Finest Kind 2-3-10 fly, 2-1-0 on blues 50#

    Release 11-3-2 on fly
    Intensity 21-6-4 on fly
    Rum Line 12-2-0 fly
Day two for the Rizzotto group
