    I talked to a guy who brought his boat in last night in Oceanside and he was seeing 65 degree water. He said he checked his logbook from last year and exactly a year ago he was reading 55 degree water.

    I believe the "tide has turned" from the last two years.

    This could be the last summer before all the Fukishima junk starts showing up.

    I read somewhere that some boats heading up from loooonnnnggggg range trips so warmer water at alijos than they've seen in a long time...Im booking my 8 day aboard the RR III tomorrow....

    Looks like the spring winds are settling in and will cool temps down...

    guy above was right - 2009 was not quite an el nino year (but it was real close). The "mean" of the el nino forecasts for later this year are now predicting we will have one. Check out this site from Australia and click on the "climate forecasts" tab:

    I think albacore will be earlier than that for you guys! We're already getting tuna water 60nm off of the Bay Area...we'll be killing them here by the 3rd week of June.
