    Salt Creek shut down

    Launched from the beach, sets were still fairly big and I had to time my launch. After 5 years I'm either gettin' good or lucky, made it out between the 4-5' set without a problem. Paddled out to the kelp with some frozen squid, hung that over the side with an egg sinker while I threw plastics. I saw a few PB out, but they didn't stay long. Which told me the fishin' was slow.

    I stayed put for 20-30 min each stop, no hits on the squid or plastics. After 3 hours finally caught a short sand bass. Wind was up so was the swell. At least I didn't get skunked. I'm going to try Laguna tomorrow.

    PS water was very clear and there was ample bait pop'n on the surface.
