launched the kayaks around 9am at shelter island. hit the eel grass right off the beach with the swimbaits and got this almost immidiately...

cruised around the shallower water for nothing for a while and decided to go deeper for halibut. i got several short bites (need to use the trap rig next time). i did end up pulling this guy up outta 40' of water.

that was about it for us. mike got skunked. spent about four hours out there. it was a super nice day. 75+ degrees, little to no wind. there was not much of a tide change and hardly any current. but yeah, twas nice out there.
