Avet EX-30 cranking power question
I have an HX2 right now that i have used for 3 days in Alaska halibut fishing. I need something with more low gear cranking power. We fish cook inlet, it has the 2nd highest tide swings on the planet. At times when the tide was running we had to use 6-7 lbs of lead to hit bottom and stay there. at times the tide runs at 5+knots. I need a reel that can provide a lot of cranking power to winch up that much lead. I am thinking of selling my HX2 and going to an EX-30. How much low end cranking power will i gain? Also is the handle longer on an EX-30 compared to the HX2? I am not talking about the rubber grip but from the center of the gear swith pin to the end. If that is longer on an EX than my HX that will help as well. Thanks for your help!

You'll get quite a but more cranking power with the 30. If you need more than that, you should pick a different day and tide to fish, at least that's what I do...
