Yamaha outboard throttle tension
I have an 85 HP Yamaha outboard with yammie controls mounted to my center console. My throttle bleeds off as soon as I let go of the throttle handle (this gets old after a few hours of running) unless I'm at trolling speed.
Anybody know where the tension adjustment is on a Yamaha control box? I can take a picture of the throttle and post it tomorrow to help clarify what mine looks like. Thanks. I thought I"d ask someone before I go in blindly with a 12-pack of Pabst.Yeah, go ahead and poach my paddy.

Most controls have a set screw on the bottom of the shift/throtle lever.
look for an allen set screw to be exposed on the bottom as you advance the throtle.

thanks, don...I'll look for that when I get home today....My owners manual shows the incorrect shift assembly (the kind shown is not the kind you'd use on a center console, but rather the sort you'd see mounted to the side of helm).Yeah, go ahead and poach my paddy.

yup mine is the same control as yours. Its not too bad so I haven't fucked with it yet but pop off the black plastic cap at the bottom of the shifter handle and tighten it up."el Toro" 18' Parker CC
