used to catch those bluefin trevally in the marshall islands!
those things pull hard and will smash anything that looks remotely close to something they can eat.

Hey Josh - I fished the Coral Star operation out of David the summer before last. We went to chase 100+ lb yellowfin on IGFA fly tackle. I got an 86 on class fly tackle, lost a bunch bigger. I also got a 212 on conventional. I took a 7'9" one piece 15 wt Redington Fly Rod that had no issues getting down or back (setting aside that the domestic airline lost it for a day coming back, but later delivered it). I was prepared to lose it, break it or have it confiscated, but it made it both ways. Still, I spent most of the week fishing 17 wts or 12-14 weights and never used it!
