To anyone interested...the tuna are here, and the Castafari is headed out Thursday to begin the offshore charter season chasing bluefin tuna east of Chatham and Cape Cod Bay. Spotter pilots and captains have seen healthy pods of fish ranging 200 to 500 pounds from Maine all the way down south of Marthas Vinyard. Several fish to 80 inches have been trolled up east of Chatham. The shipping lanes and the Dump are holding big schools of fish too.There's no denying it, the game is on. The Hyannis Tuna Fest Tuna Tournament is slated for June 21 Through 23. There are already 25 boats registered, and we are expecting a lot more.
