I have thought about this and I think it's because of video games and wanna be cowboys...these people want to live out their fantasy of using their guns to kill people.. but don't want to actually kill "people". hence the social acceptance of "zombies"- not fully people and even a fat man could take out a whole mess of them in close combat. I agree its a super lame trend that I have never got into. Played nazi zombies once on COD and thought it was incredibly lame. I am tired of people fantasizing about how many zombies they could mow down with their AR, or shotgun v. rifle comparisons. get over it!

I think it's all really stupid as are the people who believe in it. Even the CDC used zombies as a way to get people to prepare for disasters. That said, I did enjoyed the movie Zombieland and the HBO series Walking Dead.

It's a double edge as we need more people interested in firearms. What I don't want is a butt load more hunters in our already small areas to hunt local.
Diesel and gun powder!!

For some people guns are not tools..."sport" is covered under the 2nd amendment.
Now defining "sport" I'm not getting into...I know someone who makes a living hunting turkey, so for him, his shotgun is a tool.
-L.O.L, and I know I'm getting old because I'm irritated at the "new" music being blasted...and then I'm told that the person is playing old stuff...
For me, mentioning the zombie thing to people in the "gun" world was just innocent fun because at first they have no clue, then they smile...now that it's getting popular (the CHP is cashing in on it) it's kinda like that grandmother that wears the pink "JUICY" sweats
I hate to tell you this, but...

I'd still consider it a tool in which one would use to enjoy one's sport. Show me a zombie then I'll classify "zombie killing" as a sport worthy of it's own ammunition. I'd refer to it as a novelty more fitting for air soft and Xbox. When fantasy, fiction, pop culture and AR's with 6 attachments including a chainsaw are involved I'm out. It attracts all kinds of people. Some of which may never have fired an actual firearm just those on Call of Duty. Those are the ones I hope I hope to be nowhere near. It's the Hard Lemonade of the firearm industry IMO. Not saying it should be illegal. It's just not for me and would make me think twice if I met up at a buddies house for the first time and he loaded up my truck with tannerite, zombie defense ammunition and an AR with screw on fake suppressor. http://www.brownells.com/.aspx/pid=44890/Product/FAKE-SUPPRESSOR
May those who love us, love us;
and those who don't love us,
may God turn their hearts;
and if He doesn't turn their hearts,
may he turn their ankles
so we'll know them by their limping.
