Also, the Eagle Claw lazer sharps have been very good to me, they look similar to Mustads

    I like hayabusas also!

Although Mustad is and always will be my favorite...and duller the better ...pull it right to the corner of the mouth ...

for Tuna its mustad through and through but I do like the sharper stuff if bottom fishing etc...

like owners but lost way to many fish from pulled hooks as they cut their way through the mouth

    Hooks

Hooks, hooks, hooks. Blond's, Brunettes or Red Heads?

I have a few fisheries where I use Owners and they are solid but in most situations I use are Gamagatsu. VMC Perma Steel may be a good hook for you too. Lately there has been a lot of interest in Matzuo Hooks too.

    Hope this helps.

Try a few and find what you like and buy a gross of them.

MUSTAD HOOKS have been around for so long it kind of goes like this

From the start it was A.O. MUSTAD,

Then it became A.O. MUSTAD and SON

Then as more boys were born it was
    MUSTAD and SONS

Then the old man died and it was just
    MUSTAD,

Now back in the day, you had a choice of hooks, MUSTAD and those from JAPAN, granted many of the commercial vessel from JAPAN used hooks from JAPAN, while the rest of the commercial vessels used MUSTAD.

So in closing, I can tell you that more fish world wide have been taken on MUSTAD HOOKS then any other hook period!

When your on a dock and you see a truck back down with over 30,000 circle hooks for a long line vessel you know you want to fish with those hooks.

there is no question that MUSTAD HOOKS are the leader world wide

Mustad hooks have served me well in different conditions and for different fish all over the world. Yes...I do have some Owner, Gamakatsu, VMC, Dozer, even Eagle Claw and use them when the situation is correct to do so .....I was given some Hyabusa hooks and find them rather pedestrian, and no better or worse than similar Japanese designer hooks......Really for my money, under most conditions, Mustad hooks rule, time, after time, after time......

If i didn't fish them myself I would think Owner sucks from reading all these posts. Unlike others I lost more fish on Mustad than Owner Flyliners. WTF ???

The only thing I don't like about Owner is the price point.

I think its just like 98% of fishing ..... fish with what your confident fishing.
