down rigger set ups

Can anyone tell me how downriggers are being used in the southern California/Mexico area. I have used them up north but don't know the basic rig for this area.

Use them for bounce balling for halibut. Also are used trolling for Sharks.
I'll be looking into using them to try an entice the tuna to bite when they're sulking down deep.

thanks, thats what I am familiar with also. I think they will bring up the deep swimmers easier than surface trolling, but am not sure.
