Incredible 45min of Spottie Fishing

Always fished the BH before, thick and thin. I've been experimenting with alternative baits for a bit now. I'm glad I did.

Last night, the bite was nothing short of incredible. They were biting hot and heavy. 7 fish in 45 minutes. Nothing under 13", two at 16".

How do you like your Dobyns Champion Extreme rod for fishing spotties?

Honestly? A little overkill lol.

My style of spottie fishing isn't like LMB fishing where sometimes you're fishing isolated stones and stumps, etc and need that sensitivity. Most of my spottie fishing is done on soft bottom substrate and spotties don't really bite that subtly. And I don't really notice the weight differential compared to a, say, regular Champion Series rod. Not a weight weenie.

If you have the money to drop or you got a hookup, this rod is a beast. Sensitivity is not even a touch below GLX, but it's a lot nicer to fish IMO.
