San Quintin 7/21/07
One word to sum up the fishing . .. SLOW. Our group of 4 ended up 20 reds to 5lbs and 5 small lingcod. Saw a few nice 20+lb yellows at the cleaning stations but overall it was slow for everyone. Apparently the water temps took a 12 degree dive a few days before we came so that might have been the reason because we had picture perfect weather. Anyhow, we had fun as usual and will be back at it again in August.

Any more updated reports on SQ? We leave tomorrow for some great fishing, I hope. But it sounds like it just shut down.

I heard that some boats had better luck down south at socorro. San Martin had dirty cold water and was infested with humbolts. They were so agressive that they were even taking our troll jigs. Good luck!!

We were there too that weekend it was slow inside but pretty good outside.We went out on a 240 heading 27mi to 33 12 116 28 / 64.4 degree water and found paddys holding yellows and dodos.Hooked two marlins with the macks and lost em.WE went back out the next day to the same #s and got yellows and dodos again.This time found the porpoise and got yellowfin off it.
