Just got back today (Wed, 8/10) from the East Cape..Fished on Monday and Tuesday...got 2 Blue Marlin (est about 200-225 each/ one released and unfortunatly one came up dead...we really tried to bring it around but no go. When I get my film developed I may try to post pictures but not so easy with WEBTV.) and also one Yellowfin tuna (about 30#), all on Monday...Tuesday got one small Yellowfin and baited a sailfish to no avail...water great, weather warm but not too bad...some dorado starting to show in the counts, plenty of tuna, and the smaller blue marlin are there in numbers...The day after I had my 2 another boat had 2 as well...quite a few sails showing as well...great "solo" trip ("mama" is ailing a little and needed me our of her hair for a couple of days)...if your are thinking East Cape, things are looking up..
