Ali has a point, though I'm not going I just want to throw out a bit of info.
You should get your insurance before you cross especially if you are towing.
The internet is your friend.
It's still dark at 0600 and though I'm not worried about the banditos on a Thursday morning, the POT holes running along the border have been brutal lately. Recent rains have created some bad ass holes and you will not see them in the dark. BING BAM BOOM, trailer tire change on an upgrade or down grade.
To really poke my nose in your biz, I don't believe running down crazy to fish for 2 hours in the afternoon for rock cod is worth it. May I suggest that there a few well connected captains that can hook you up with some table fare, easy drive down, setup for the next day, talk some shit. Then grab a few pescados from todays catch and head to Jardines for dinner. There's a guapo waiter there that needs a grande propina.
Just a few suggestions. I'm driving to Esenada tomorrow and will reposrt on the road conditions. Most of the major construction from SD to senada is complete. They have been doing a lot of pavinig on Mex 1.
Art out

Dude, get your nose out of our biz please
We are NOT going to "run down crazy to fish 2 hrs" we are going to caravan calmly and fish a 1/2 day. This is not our first SQ trip
We are going there to fish.
I said at least 2 times we were meeting at 4:30 and stopping in San Ysidro for insurance-San Ysidro is IN California - so yeah - we are going to get insurance before we cross - did you read this thread before jumping in - NO you didn't - if Ali gives me shit cause it's still dark at 0600 I'm blaming you for sticking your nose in here
And lastly, let us worry about the fucking pot holes - jeez

dude!!!!!!!
Are you bringing your avatar

We have rooms "kinda" set aside. Kinda because Nancy at the Old Mill knows we have a group coming down - and knows that we don't know a final total of people
Call her 1-800-479-7962
As I said above somewhere, she had a cancelation and rooms 1,2 & 3 came available - these are 3 two man rooms
There are some people looking for a ride, a ride down AND a boat to fish off of

It's all good Harry. You guys will have a great time and slay a lot of tacos. If you haven't seen the new rooms at Jardines - check them out.
I do remember this from last weeknds run to Ensenada, there's a cross over from the south bound lane to the north bound. It's not trailer friendly as I watched a short motorcyle trailer catch his back wheel making the "S" turn.
I just want you guys to be safe and trouble free. The coming full moon has large tidal swings making that run out of the bay interesting. Can't see the tidal charts, but looks like the low is in the afternoon.
Again good luck, and now I'll STFU

No wifey on this trip. No one need fear a little drive to San Quintin. Give me a break. No bandito is going to touch us. And if they try the excursion goes into 4x4 low and runs their ass over. We don't go without a fight. I'll call Old Mill and reserve one room. Anyone interested in sharing expenses with me and offering deckhand duties can chime in. I have room for three in the truck and three in the boat (3 + me equals four total bodies or less if we are extraordinarily large).
