Will my Clamp Hold on a Deckhand style rod?

i have a Diawa sealine x 40 SHA and i just got a deckhand style rod and i was a little skeptical if it would hold against a 50 pound fish and also how do i put the clamp on my reel and pole? do i have to take my reel apart to put the clamp on?

If in doubt, get a corkpuppy from Acidrod. Triples your clamping area. On a Sealine you'll need to file/grind down one side of the washer to clear the gearbox.

Some of the Diawa clamps are a real pain to install, but they will hold against a #50 fish.....provided that you can hook one.
