I have one and love it. Landed a 300lb bluefin last year in deep NC water. I have it loaded with 100lb hollow.

So I pulled the trigger this weekend at the Somerset show and bought the green camo HX raptor. I am very impressed with the reel. Now I just have to figure out what kind of line to spool it with. I will be using it for chunking tuna in the NJ and NY canyons and for shark fishing for makos and threshers. I will be looking to take it to the west coast on a long range trip or a puerta trip. What line do you recommend and for the people who own and fish one what pound test and brand do you have on it. Thanks.

Yup. I have 550 yds of JB 100 hollow on mine and there is still some more room.

550-600 yards with 30#+ of drag would be pretty hard to get spooled.

its not too light, 80 or 100 is the normal range. Some probably put 100 and splice 130 on the top. depends on what you are going to be using it for.

it will be used for chunking butterfish here in the nj/ny canyons for yellow fin and shark fishing. It will also come with me to PV and on my first time that I can make it on a long range trip.
