Thanks for that Ernie... guess I missed the post with his very collectable lures trade for LR gear. I'm sure he'll get his money or lures back and maybe I'll get another shot if it's the latter.

Yup, last time I remember eBay was touting the fact that they guaranteed your transactions.

to prevent this in the future, have a seperate bank acct. with hardly any money in it, and then when you get paid in your paypal acct, go spend it fast or take it. there's gotta be ways to beat these bastards.

.....so what I want to know is; How much did the guy make his final winning bid for? Was it for the $1,000, or was it for the $3,700 that you mentioned first.

    You also said:

I've had stuff sent when I was away on a trip and the shipper will usually hold it for a certain amount of time because they don't like sending stuff back for free. I know that UPS will put as many as three delivery attempt notices up before simply holding a package. Do you happen to know how long they held it for? There should be a record of that, particularly if UPS or FEDEX was used.

This is getting more convoluted as it goes.
He UP bid the auction $1,000 in 15 seconds., the last 15 seconds.
For the total price of $3,700.00

this friggin post is out of control and I am ready to pull the plug.

I DID abide by the rules. I did post the pictures and i did get screwed.

I really have NO IDEA how that can be misunderstood.

I understood that you got screwed and had no question about that at all. But your numbers kept not adding up and you'd leave out little details that made it difficult to follow or add things up is all. Now that you have been more clear that is no longer a problem.

Bottom line; I hope you get either your lures or your money back.

FYI had a problem with paypal recently. buyer from china disputed expensive paypal transaction. buyer said goods were damaged in shipping & not as described which was filed with ebay. buyer refused to have unit inspected with post office. buyer then puts a hold on my paypal payment!!!!! well paypal or ebay does NOT have your a#$ covered as you might think because of the possible second party credit card chargeback. you will win the paypal case and get NO money to add insult to injury you lose your item from the second party credit card charge back. BTW the buyer does NOT have to return your item with this type of charge back!!!!! so with that said be real careful out there its a jungle.

If you went this way, I'd do it at a bank you don't normally use and only if you don't care about your credit report. You can still have a negative balance :P
